Chacho's, Oceano California, USA
This mural is painted on a little hole in the wall Mexican Restaurant called Chacho’s located on Hwy 1 in Oceano, CA. With a nod to the previous mural that adorned this wall imagery of Spanish dancing signifies the importance of the Spanish colonial roots. Moving right across the wall is a section representing the giant sand dunes nearby. To the right of that is a different dancer, this time an indigenous dancer. The zigzag and flower designs are variations of Mexican folk art designs often seen on traditional embroidered clothing. The agave below the window is a sacred plant in Mexico for providing food, clothes and medicine. And finally the giant floating tortillas representing what the restaurant is known for, homemade tortillas and integral part of Mexican cuisine.
